Gilead's manufacturing facility in Edmonton handles development and manufacturing of investigational drugs, supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients for clinical research programs and contributes to new product launch supplies. With Phase 1 completed in April 2015, construction for Phase 2 is already underway and is scheduled to open in spring 2016. Phase 2 will tie into Phase 1, integrating the following systems: Utility power, Addressable fire alarm systems, CCTV system, Card Access Telecommunications, and Public Address. Territorial has been involved in the project from the initial planning stages providing cost analysis, design assist with good construction practices in mind and also interfacing with owner's user groups and providing cost effective ideas and solutions. In total, the two buildings will encompass 184,000 square feet and will allow Gilead to hire an additional 170 employees by 2017.
