Project / Building Description

This project will provide 28,400 square metres over 14 levels in a new “infill structure” located at the corner of 116 Street and 92 Avenue. It is slated to be the tallest, most prominent and most energy efficient building on the University of Alberta campus, achieving LEED Gold certification. Home to the entire engineering faculty, this project will accommodate more than 1,700 individuals and will support a further 50 per cent expansion of the Faculty of Engineering (increase faculty from 200 to 300, increase graduate students from 1,600 to 2,400, and increase undergraduate students from 4,000 to 6,000). This facility will enhance interaction and collaboration across disciplines and with external partners in energy, environment, nano, biomedical, materials, systems, ICT, and infrastructure.
